It just seems that nearly half of the world cling to axioms of the past and almost all the rest snicker at the latter, celebrating nothingness. A slim group that falls in between the two are equally in love with science and in awe of this universe that with Socratic insight will not make assumptions either way. Learn to embrace the idea that you could be wrong and your world opens up.

So the kids love bed time stories and I still pull out the Seuss, Hippos, Sendak, etc, but now the older 2 kiddos are craving a bit more notoriety in their slumber story. They have become fans of Aesop and the Grimms. I have also been mixing in some poems and a while back we ran across the Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. I made them whisper Nevermore on queue and it was a hit. Just came across this rendition. ~~Darth Vadar~~ James Earl Jones owning the Raven. note, DRAT!! cuts off right before the last Nevermore.

Just read the Humpback, a short story in ‘The thousand and one nights: or, The Arabian night’s entertainments, Volume 1′ to my kiddos as a bed time story. The crazy stuff I read to my kids, I know… Weekend at Bernie’s of the Arabian world. Also trying out embedding Google books in a post.

Drunken Poetry commence..

So I fond this on my blog a few days after the the world toasted a new year…and vagely even remember writing it…

“So here it begins. Another year of countdown and wait, and anticipation and my its late, I write this post like an dwindling sojourner, not hoping my torch brings you warmth but casts a pebble in your pond, yes an echo on life, a new year’s begun and no extrordinary reason to celebrate or hold back from it, heres an echo.. echo.. echo for life, let my sigh of an echo resonate on the canyon wall, echo of life. We scream for more of this glue to bind us still. oh, i wanna be still for a moment, but then time it pulls me farther forth. trying to keep still is pointless…still, echos keep pulling me still.. I wanna grab the rope that sways gently on, I wanta sway, echo.”

This is probably an old video to some but it is just amazing. As our profession, that of web development, often deals in 0 and 1s and it is very uncommon to talk faith in a technical forum. Even our out shades of gray have are based on hex or rgb numbers. Though my beliefs are not likely to match the next person sitting next to me in church let alone the person I pass on the street I believe love trumps all. So even though I’ve seen this video a while back I was compelled this morning to share.
