where did the last 5 hours go

So I saw this a while back and wanted to take a stab at it. Two things stacked against me.

A) I know nada about illustrator. pure photoshop background (vector what?)

B) Far from a graphic artist, exccept for lewd sfw doodles.

So I found this tutorial and took a crack at it. Those of my friends who are graphic artists will probably put me to shame.
