If you build it (correctly), they will come (wirelessly)

Just hitting the RSS Feeds and found a link on Cameron Moll’s Authentic Boredom blog that states “ESPN.com: Mobile visits briefly outpaced PC visits“.  This is huge for web masters/designers as it is yet more proof that the days of PC based visitors dominating the visit list is waining.  The fold is no longer fixed and we need to start developing with these visitors in mind, say those on an iPhone.  If a site is written using standards based design the owner might not faint knowing more than half the visitors at any one given time were hitting the site on mobile devices.

Kudos to ESPN, they always seem to be at the forefront of web technology! I know I am on that site on my phone at least two plus times a day just to check scores.

One Love.
